Since Feb. 19, Crystal Copeland has collected bottled water for Flint, MI residents who have been affected by the ongoing water crisis.

Copeland said that for many, bottled water donations are how they have survived.

Hundreds of bottles of water now fill the old gymnasium at the Dunbar Community Center in Springfield, after people have come together in “one big unity fest,” Copeland said. Donations will continue to be accepted until March 14.

It is then that Copeland and others will make the drive to Flint to deliver the water to the New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church.
