Polo G Postponed

Polo G’s concert on Feb. 25 at UMass Amherst won’t take place after all. It wasn’t as a result of Covid concerns, or the Polo himself canceling the appearance. Instead, it was Winter Storm Oakee, bringing inches of snow and freezing conditions that prevented the show from going on.

Polo G coming to UMass?

Polo G is set to headline UMass Amherst’s Winter Concert this upcoming Friday. The 23-year-old hip hop artist has risen to prominence in the past few years with tracks like, “Rapstar” and “Martin & Gina.” A large amount of tickets selling out within minutes of being launched on Jan. 19, the buzz surrounding the show is imminent.

Elena Lucore, a freshman business major, passed away Tuesday Feb. 22, when a car struck her on Massachusetts Avenue. According to the UMass police department, the visibility of the roads Tuesday evening were poor due to the rainy and drizzly weather conditions.

In an email to the university on Thursday Feb. 17, co-directors of the Public Health and Promotion Center (PHPC) Ann Becker and Jeffrey Hescock explained that as of this week, there were a “total of 456 positive cases.”
