Homecoming at UMass
Students and alumni crowded campus this past week in anticipation of the Homecoming football game against Kent State on Saturday, Oct. 17.
UMass’s University Programming Council planned a full week of events for students and faculty, kicking off the weekend on Thursday with free Homecoming t-shirts in the Campus Center. Runners participated in the annual Nearly Naked Mile on Friday and all proceeds were donated to the Amherst Survival Center. The race was followed by the men’s hockey home opener at the Mullins Center at 7 p.m., where the Minutemen took home a 5-2 win. Clubs and RSO’s on campus gathered in the early morning on Saturday for the parade, starting at Haigis Mall and ending in Southwest. The UMass football team then went head to head against the Kent State Golden Flashes, but fell short 15-10.
