UMass Women’s Soccer shuts out Fordham in A-10 quarterfinals
All four of UMass’ goals came in the second half
AMHERST — The UMass women’s soccer team shut out Fordham University on Sunday at home in the Atlantic 10 quarterfinals.
The 4-0 victory advances the team to the semifinals in St. Louis, Missouri, where they will face George Washington University. All four of UMass’ goals came in the second half, with Lauren Bonvaita getting the first goal in the 50th minute, Ava Jouvenel in the 53rd minute, Sini Laaksonen in the 56th minute, and Rebeca Frisk in the 83rd minute.
With this win, UMass has won its first quarterfinal match since 2013 and the first under head coach Jason Dowiak.
