Service Needed

cherish me

              sweet vanilla duvet

flood me with all the creamy memories

            that lean up against

the folding in my brain

                   and

                  color me in.

bathe me

                                  in concrete

to make all the divisions of me

                                inseparable

from one thousand and one

                                of anything.

river

christen the silver ring

           swallow the lasting tang

of metallic mellows and

don’t you dare be gentle with me

peel me back using thin white blades

and wet me until my skin

                            leathers thick

                                       and reveal that

                           I am the ruse to

layers I don’t quite understand yet

and that I am the very way a protruding skyline

claws at the sunrise

                                       but all I desire

                    lies within

                                     the serene breeze that

                           cradles my chest

                   and in my name

                          echoing down my arms

                   and into my clenched fist

                  bellowing

                            come back again
