AMHERST — In the season opener, UMass lost to Merrimack 79-64 at the Mullins Center.

The Minutewomen struggled to contain the Warriors beyond the arc, as they shot 14-of-27 from three in the game. Warriors’ Deni Davis-Stewart led the way with a triple double, scoring 31 points with 13 rebounds and 12 blocks.
