Hockey Highlights: UMass hockey ends the semester with 4-1 win over Maine

AMHERST — In their last home game of the fall semester, the Minutemen showed up for the crowd at the Mullins Center.

After a 5-1 win over Maine the previous night, both teams came out ready to play. After a scoreless first, UMass opened the scoring with a goal from Mitchell Chaffee with 7:03 left in the second. UMass then scored two goals in 17 seconds at the end of the period, with the goals coming from John Leonard and Niko Hildenbrand. Maine got on the board in the third with a goal from Adam Dawe with 15:33 left in the game, but an empty netter from Philip Lagunov with 2:38 left sealed the victory for UMass. UMass wins 4-1.
