Introspective Ramblings: “Remembering You”
Editor’s Note: Introspective Ramblings is Amherst Wire’s poetry column, dedicated to showcasing student’s creative work through a mixture of audio and visual components.
Remembering You
I’ve been thinking a lot about you lately
not in a sad way,
happy way,
or mad way,
but in a way of remembrance.
I can’t remember all the good
and I certainly don’t remember all the bad.
All I remember is that I was with you…
not what we had.
As I step into the start of the newest version of myself
I look back and think about how
I didn’t miss you,
I just missed the familiarity of you.
Now all I want is nothing familiar.
All I want is me
and the unknown.
