limitless

if the sky is the limit
then i’m quite literally at my limit
and i think i finally understand
what that means

i am the night sky
watching over the earth from above
feeling closer to the stars
than i do the ground

and for a change
i am no longer small
i am on top of the world
i am an encapsulation of the metaphor

larger than life
in anything but the metaphorical sense
and while i know i will come down eventually
in this moment i am limitless
